General Power of Attorney

Powers of Attorney exist to help you if you're ever unable to make decisions for yourself. Specifically, a General Power of Attorney makes sure your financial and legal matters are handled by someone you trust if you become incapacitated and can't make decisions. Because a General Power of Attorney grants broad power to act, the person you designate will control your financial, health, legal and most other matters.

Use the General Power of Attorney document if:

• You wish to give someone broad authorization to act for you if you are absent.
• You wish to give someone broad authorization to act for you if you are incapable.
• You wish to give someone broad authorization to act for you in situations you specify.
